WhatsApp today will stop working on many Android smartphones and iPhone devices from February 1, 2020. The company announced a few days ago that WhatsApp accounts on some devices operating on the older version will stop working completely and all chats included in the account will also be deleted. Please tell that from 31 December 2019, WhatsApp stopped support for Windows Phones. Now from today, millions of users running Android and iOS will also not be able to use this app.
According to WhatsApp’s announcement, support for smartphones running Android 2.3.7 and older as well as devices running iOS 8 and older will be discontinued from February 1. A few weeks ago, WhatsApp had also committed users running all these versions of the device to create new accounts and re-verify the accounts. But users could use the already running account till today i.e. 1 February 2020.
Let us know that at present there are millions of such devices, which are working on Android version 2.3.7 or older. Apart from this, the number of iPhone users with iOS 8 and earlier is also very high.
WhatsApp is still working on Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 running on KaiOS 2.5.1+ version. For Android and iPhone users, WhatsApp works on Android OS 4.0.3 and below and iOS 9 and above.
